Landscape images of Orkney and Northern Scotland

This standing stone sits alone on the summit of Staney Hill, a modest rounded hill in Harray. At the winter solstice the sun sets along a line connecting this stone and the Ring of Brodgar stone circle a few miles to the south west. One of the many intriguing mysteries of neolithic Orkney.
