Remarkably clear sky following an unusually warm September day. I had a dark sky window of around 1 hour and managed to capture the Milky Way centre core setting over the SSW horizon. It has taken 26,000 years for the light from these stars to reach earth. On the left are Cliffs of Yesnaby and in the distance is Island of Hoy.
