Stenness Sunset
This was the view from The Watchstone near Stones of Stenness on Christmas day 2021. There is a theory that Neolithic man placed this stone as a celestial marker for the shortest day of the year. From this stone the sun sets behind a notch in the Hoy hills due south west.
